Like previous year Puja and Eid has come almost similar time. It is really an incident of great pleasure. I called today at my home and what I heard is really painful. After getting down to Australian soil I usually hear that this is a racist country. Australian’s do not allow migrants to grow. And in foreign soil it is not always easy to have the right track as we are from different culture, language and of different English accent.
Fortunately I find very few people who are really racist; who behave badly over my face. Most of the Aussie is very helpful. Usually they are law abiding and truthful what made them so civilized. In Bangladesh my elder sister, who is a doctor, works in a hospital. This year authority denied allowing her festival leave. She worked four days at a stretch during Eid Vacation. After eid vacation usually she used to get leave for four days. This year they cancelled it. They said that she would get leave only on govt. holiday for puja and would not be entitled to have leave in lieu of the four days she worked at stretch. Is it not racism? She works in a maternity called ‘Mamata’, located at Lalkhan Bazar, Ctg. It is surprising that this hospital is funded by Foreign donor agencies who talk highly about human rights, corporate governance, ethics … … …
