Waiting for Victory Day

16 December 1971 means a lot for Bengali people all over the world. Bengali nation got a sovereign land. This independence means a lot of Bengali Hindus. To create a religious division minority suffered some extra torture.

This year minority is free from the curse of Abandon Property Act. It is really a big question whether this change will be implemented or not, but I feel comfort as my father in his life time came to know that he is free from this curse.

I am not crazy for physically attaching with the land where my forefather's used to live. I am always with the image of the country, cultural reflection that can illuminate others, even rest of the world. I believe - we have a lot. But now it is the matter of overcoming the odds who denies our cultural heritage, it is fighting against those belief that teaches Bengali muslim that Bangla words cannot be Islamic.

I born after liberation. At that time major Zia was in power. We were confused our national identity. In my childhood, I used to hate the freedom fighters. In my locality there is freedom fighter named Bulbul Guha. He used to play a role of 'Political Pervert'. Women are not secure from his teasing, all development work must needed to add some cost for him, if someone can manage him, he had the right to do any bad work. I heard that he was freedom fighter. I have not seen the liberation war. I knew that Freedom fighter means those who had license to do any crime. It took a long to get rid of this image. Still I have a deep impact of that period. These freedom fighters changed colours time to time (Awami to BNP and then to JP), established the anti-bangladeshis in the society.

In new list of Freedom fighters, these type of people should be got rid of. Activities of after liberation war must be considered. In true sense, a massive corrective movement is required to have our desired Bangladesh. Question is - who will the take the lead and when the time will come to start a new movement?

Keep myself awaiting for a Victory Day ...
